A Bix'n Andy trigger bolts into any Remington 700-footprint action, but how well it works depends on one small dimension: how high the cocking piece sits above the trigger's front dowel pin. That gap decides which top sear (Low 3.6 mm, Medium 3.8 mm or High 4.0 mm) gives your rifle safe, consistent sear engagement. Find your action in the table below. It shows the gap measured on real actions, in millimeters and inches, and the sear that suits that number. Individual actions vary, even within the same model, so treat this as a starting point. Measure your own action, and check with us or with Bix'n Andy before you order.

If the cocking piece sits too low relative to the sear, closing the bolt pushes the sear past the end of its travel. If it sits too high, there is not enough engagement and the cocking piece may not hold. The right sear puts your action in the middle of the safe window. After installing the trigger, always cycle the bolt firmly several times and confirm that the cocking piece holds every time.
Measure it. With the trigger out and the bolt closed and cocked, measure vertically from the top of the front dowel pin to the top of the cocking piece. Calipers or a depth gauge work well. Send us the number and your action model, and we will confirm the sear before you order.
No. Every BAT action checked works with the standard top sear that comes in the box.
The hand option sets the side of the top safety. Pick the side that matches your action and stock. For left-hand configurations, contact us to confirm availability.
Both share the same housing and footprint, so action compatibility is the same. A single-stage gives one clean break. Bix'n Andy rates the TacSport PRO-X adjustable from about 3.5 oz to 2.2 lb. A two-stage adds a defined take-up before the wall, and many prone, F-Class and ELR shooters prefer it. Choose by feel and discipline, not by action.
Both are factory options and do not affect fit. The 90-degree shoe is a straight blade for a consistent finger position. The Gator shoe is shaped and textured for more grip and a different contact point. Many PRS and NRL shooters use either one, so it comes down to personal preference.
The TacSport family uses a top safety, and the safety lever and bolt release are removable. If your action uses its own bolt stop, or your stock or chassis needs a particular layout, tell us your setup and we will confirm the right configuration.
For Remington 700-footprint actions, yes. Bix'n Andy still recommends installation by a qualified gunsmith. Never install or remove a trigger with ammunition in the rifle.
